Cimicifuga r. 'James Compton' is a
short Snakeroot that only gets 3 feet
tall.  It is a wonderful accent plant that
goes well with other variegated or
yellow foliage plants.  The new leaves
are green and by the second season
they deepen to a dark purple-black.  In
late summer fragrant white flowers
tinged with pink appear on tall spikes.
