Other	Grown in too much shade and plants get lanky.  Prefers average watering though can be quite drought tolerant.  Dislikes heavy clay soil.  To amend soil use small gravel, bark or soil mix, do not use compost or other rich organic matter.  Prefers poor soil.

A fairly new introduction of Gaillardia 'Oranges & Lemons' has large peachy orange flowers with yellow tips and a gold central cone.  The foliage is a nice grey-green and unlike other Gaillardia this one has a better upright habit.   Easy to maintain and heat tolerant.
