Found naturally along riverbanks and enjoys rich, organic moist soil though does well in average soil. In shade and fertile soil tends to spread more rapidly.

Mondarda 'Petite Delight' has beautiful lavender-rose flowers from midsummer to fall and it is a dwarf. They are enhanced by dark lush green crinkled foliage smelling like mint. Loved by hummingbirds and butterflies.
