Do not grow in overly rich soil or plants will be less compact. Low growing sedums will do better in part shade than tall varieties. Low maintenance and easy to grow. Do not give Sedum too much TLC. Do not water until totally dry. In the South, some protection from the hot afternoon sun is appreciated.
Sedum 'Purple Emperor' unlike 'Black Jack' emerges purple and gets your attention right away. This variety has a semi-upright habit. Massive flower heads of bronze-pink bloom in late summer. Great for rock beds, or those dry sunny areas.
